…whoever wishes to become great among you must be your servant…Mark 10:43
No church can exist without the dedication of its members. This could not be truer than in the Presbyterian churches. As a Presbyterian congregation, we depend on the faithful dedication of all of our members. And one of the areas of faithfulness that every church needs is in ministry. Here at FCC we have some truly dedicated men and women in leadership who exemplify what Jesus said above, “whoever wishes to become great among you must be your servant.” Have you ever wondered how things get done here at FCC? Whether it’s cutting the grass or repairing a burnt lightbulb, decorating the sanctuary for the holidays or providing a Sunday School classroom, keeping track of our bills and offerings or ensuring that the bathrooms are kept clean, we have some outstanding members who take care of these things for the rest of us. In case you were wondering who these servants of Christ are or if you’ve ever needed to ask about a particular ministry, here are their names and ministries. Say a prayer of thanks for each of them, and offer to lend them a hand as they carry out the work of Christ in our midst:
Christy/Scott Hind – Building and Grounds Linda Mitchell – Worship
Melissa Bishop – Christian Education Armando Romeo – Stewardship
June Torres, Tom Repici, Janice Elia – Friendship Circle Leaders
Eric Bishop – Personnel
Until we undertake the role of a servant in the church, we cannot learn what Jesus talked about when He called us to be His disciples. I encourage you this Summer to ask the Lord which ministry He is calling you to participate in…where He wants you to learn how to serve others in His Church…in the name of the One who became the Blessed Servant of us all!
